Education

Our efforts to enrich the culture of our community includes education and outreach throughout central Illinois.

• Three Youth Concerts performed during a school day in April, reaching over 5,000 students
• An annual Young Artist Competition for grade school and high school musicians living in a 50-mile radius of Peoria. The winner is awarded an academic scholarship and the opportunity to perform as soloist at the Youth Concerts.
• Free Pre-Concert Lectures, held from 7:00 to 7:45 p.m. in Peoria Civic Center Room 135 prior to each of our classical subscription concerts. Guest speakers include our music director, musicians and guest soloists. Subscription concerts are broadcast on Peoria's National Public Radio station, WCBU-FM 89.9.
