Peoria Symphony Guild Young Artist Competition2004 Winner Announced!Claire Kim is the winner of the 2004 Young Artists'
Competition/Alice Oakley Memorial Scholarship. She will perform with the
Peoria Symphony Orchestra and at the Symphony Guild Spring Luncheon.
2004 Young Artist Competition winner pianist Claire Kim Finalists and all recipients of a Donna Wilkinson Schwindenhammer Memorial Scholarship were: Dianna He played the piano and performed Beethoven Concerto No. 3, Op.37 with accompanist Gretchen Church. She is 16 and a junior at Richwoods High School. Her parents are Bin and Jiarong He, and her piano teacher is Dr. Goldenberg. Amy Schlicher played the violin and performed the first movement from the Symphonie Espagnole composed by Lalo with accompanist Leslie Koons. She is 13 and in the 8th grade at Peoria Christian School. Her parents are Rick and Caryl Schlicher, and her violin teacher is Brian Gehrich. Tim Rooney played the marimba and performed Concerto for Marimba, second and fourth movements composed by Ney Rosauro with accompanist Anna Williams. He is a senior at Notre Dame High School. His parents are Jerome and Mary Rooney, and his teacher is Bill Cuthbert.
